Shawn began his clinical Pastoral Education at St. Michael’s hospital in Toronto in 1998 and later did his residency the next year at Humber River Hospital in 1999/2000, where he was hired on full-time as Chaplain. Shawn was ordained with the United Church of Canada in 2003 and worked in congregation ministry for a few years, primarily in the area of affordable housing and the underserved populations of Toronto. Shawn was hired as the Manager of Spiritual Care Services at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in 2011. Shawn began work on his Provisional Teaching Supervision in 2011 and achieved Associate Supervision status in 2013.
Shawn has lived with addiction and depression and therefore has a keen interest in mental health and addiction. Shawn has an interest in Twelve Step theology as it relates to recovery from addictions.
